Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple (Basara)
About the Temple
One of the most famous Saraswati temples in India, located on the banks of the Godavari River in Basara. Students from across India visit this temple before their exams.
History: The temple dates back to the 7th century CE. According to legend, the great sage Vyasa established this temple and performed penance here. The temple is one of the two famous Saraswati temples in India (the other being in Kashmir).
Significance: It is believed that students who perform Aksharabhyasam (initiation into learning) at this temple will excel in education. The temple is particularly famous among students appearing for competitive exams.

Darshan Timings: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM
