About the Temple

A replica of the famous Puri Jagannath temple, located on the beach road in Visakhapatnam. The temple is built in Kalinga architectural style with a 45-meter high Ratha (chariot) shaped structure.

History: The temple was constructed in the 20th century by the Jagannatha Temple Trust as a North Indian-style temple for the Oriya community living in Visakhapatnam and has become a major landmark.

Significance: The temple hosts the famous Rath Yatra (chariot festival) which is one of the largest in South India. The temple is built on the shores of the Bay of Bengal.

Darshan Timings: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
