Adhyaya 11 - Agnishtoma (The Basic Soma Rite)

This Adhyaya describes the Agnishtoma, the basic model of the Soma sacrifice. It is the simplest and most fundamental of the seven Soma samsthas (forms). The chapter details the five principal parts of the Agnishtoma: the Prasava (injunction), the Stotra (praise), the Shastra (recitation), the Parshad (receptacle), and the Uktha (chant of praise).
