About the Temple

A historic Shiva temple complex known as the 'Dakshina Kashi' (Kashi of the South). Located in Vemulawada, this temple is one of the most ancient and sacred temples in Telangana.

History: The temple was built in the 8th century by the Chalukya rulers. The temple tank (Sahaya Teertham) is believed to have medicinal properties and was constructed by the Kakatiya queen Rudrama Devi.

Significance: The temple is known for its powerful Rahu-Ketu Kala Sarpa Dosha Nivarana pooja. The Shani (Saturn) temple within the complex is also very famous. Thousands perform abhishekam on Mondays.
