About the Temple
Located in Vontimitta, Kadapa district, this is one of the most beautiful Rama temples in Andhra Pradesh known for its 7-story Raja Gopuram. The temple has exquisite Vijayanagara-style architecture.
History: The temple was built during the Vijayanagara period in the 15th century. According to legend, the temple was constructed by a devotee named Vontimitra, who was a great Rama bhakt.
Significance: The temple is known for its massive gopuram (tower) and beautiful sculptures. The Rama Navami celebrations here are world-famous.
