सत्यं ज्ञानमनन्तं ब्रह्म | यो वेद निहितं गुहायां परमे व्योमन् |
सोऽश्नुते सर्वान् कामान् सह | ब्रह्मणा विपश्चितेति ||२.१.१||
Brahman is truth, knowledge, infinity. One who knows it hidden in the cave of the heart, in the highest ether, attains all desires together with the all-knowing Brahman.

अन्नमयो ह्येवायं पुरुषः | तस्येदमेव शिरः | अयं दक्षिणः पक्षः | अयमुत्तरः पक्षः | अयमात्मा | इदं पुच्छं प्रतिष्ठा ||२.१.२||
This person is indeed made of the essence of food. This is his head, this his right wing, this his left wing, this his trunk, this his tail — the foundation.

When one finds fearless support in that which is unseen, bodiless, unutterable, and supportless — then one has gone to fearlessness.

यो वै भूमा तत्सुखम् | नाल्पे सुखमस्ति | भूमैव सुखम् | भूमा त्वेव विजिज्ञासितव्यः ||२.८.१||
The infinite is bliss. There is no bliss in the finite. The infinite alone is bliss. The infinite alone should be inquired into.

When one makes even a slight separation in this (Brahman), then fear arises for him.

All other beings live on a fraction of this very bliss.

मनुष्याणां शतं वर्षाणि | तत्सार्धमायुः | तस्य मनुष्यानन्दः | स एको मनुष्यगन्धर्वाणामानन्दः ||२.८.१||
A hundred years of human life — that is the full lifespan. That is human bliss. That is one unit of the bliss of human gandharvas.

अभयं वै ब्रह्म | अभयं हि वै ब्रह्म भवति | य एवं वेद ||२.९.१||
Brahman is indeed fearlessness. One who knows thus becomes Brahman — becomes fearless.

सोऽकामयत | बहु स्यां प्रजायेयेति | स तपोऽतप्यत | स तपस्तप्त्वा | इदं सर्वमसृजत | यदिदं किञ्च | तत्सृष्ट्वा | तदेवानुप्राविशत् ||२.६.१||
He desired: 'May I become many, may I be born.' He performed austerity. Having performed austerity, he created all this — whatever exists. Having created it, he entered into that very creation.

स एको मानुषानन्दः | ते ये शतं मनुष्यगन्धर्वाणामानन्दाः | स एको मनुष्यगन्धर्वाणामानन्दः ||२.८.१||
That is one unit of human bliss. A hundred units of human bliss equal one unit of human gandharva bliss.

ते ये शतं देवानामानन्दाः | स एको देवानामानन्दः | स एको बृहस्पतेरानन्दः ||२.८.१||

A hundred units of Prajapati's bliss equal one unit of Brahman's bliss. That is the golden Person seen within the sun.

The knower of Brahman attains the supreme. This has been declared: Brahman is truth, knowledge, infinity. One who knows it hidden in the cave of the heart, in the supreme ether, attains all desires.
